Edgefield B&B

Sharon Springs, NY

Edgefield B&B

153 Washington St., Sharon Springs, NY, 13459

Fodor’s Review:

Patterned fabrics, cushy upholstery, leaded-glass doors, and tailored window treatments contribute to the B&B’s English country-manor charm. This refinement carries into the guest rooms, which have a queen bed or a pair of twins. Afternoon tea is served in the parlor or on the veranda. The owner has a cat, but the property doesn’t welcome other pets.

Secret Caverns

Posted By admin on April 5, 2009

Secret Caverns
The Caverns are part of the underground drainage system of this area with the cave stream forming nice waterfalls. The stream contains gravel that shows evidence of glacial action. It seems, the cave was formed largely during the last Ice Age about 38.000 years ago. A special highlight is the huge fossils in the younger upper layers of Coeymans Limestone. The crinoids, spiral coral, brachiopods, nautiloids, sea scorpions, and trilobites can be seen in the cave walls during the first descend. Caverns. 8km east of Cobleskill. Open during summer months, September & October, April & May Saturday & Sunday 9am – 5pm. Call 518-296-8558 for more information.
